I began my photography journey by capturing moments of friends and family during my undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). After a successful first season capturing graduation photos for students from WashU, St. Louis University, the University of Missouri - St. Louis, and surrounding colleges, I was hired by WashU Student Affairs as a photographer, which allowed me to capture dynamic student events.

I have worked full-time as a Marketing and Communication Specialist for the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement, where I photographed events, headshots, and endeavors in the local community, before moving to WashU’s University Services team, where I performed similar duties as a Marketing and Communication Coordinator.

As a part of my personal business, Cameron Thompson Photography, I have served as the official photographer for two WashU affinity graduation ceremonies, as well as for two years of WashU’s annual theater production of Carnaval. I created and hosted a networking event in Miami, FL which brought together dozens of models, local brands, and photographers who were interested in expanding each of their respective portfolios. Through my Miami event, photographers got to shoot professional models and brands; models got to work with professional photographers and brands; and brands got professional photographs for marketing and promotional materials.

In August 2025, I moved my photography business from St. Louis, MO to Pittsburgh, PA, as I work to pursue a Masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University. I am eager to serve the Pittsburgh community as I photograph professional headshots, graduation and senior portraits, and events, and continue to expand into theater and editorial-style photography.
